Jason Childers brings over 20 years of experience in senior living to his role as Chief Operating Officer at Merrill Gardens. He is responsible for the company’s resident services programs including dining, health services, and engagement. In addition, he leads the company’s acquisition efforts and spearheaded the emergence of Truewood by Merrill, the award winning middle market brand that has been widely recognized as an industry leader.

Childers was previously with Merrill Gardens as Senior Vice President with responsibility for branding, information technology initiatives, budgeting, and business analytics from 2013-2015 before leaving to form senior housing consulting company 2Ten Consulting. Childers also spent three years as Executive Vice President of Strategy at Blue Harbor Senior Living and 11 years at Leisure Care Senior Living, rising from Market Research Analyst to Partner and Executive Vice President.

Childers was an inaugural member of the NIC Future Leaders Council and is currently a member of the Argentum COO Roundtable. He also serves as Chair of the Education Innovations, Marketing and Enrollment, and Curriculum subcommittees for the Granger Cobb Institute for Senior Living at Washington State University. He was recently honored as an Executive to Watch by Senior Housing News. Childers has been a board member of the nonprofit Art With Heart, and a member of the marketing committee for foster care support program Treehouse. Childers earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from UC San Diego.
