John Hetzel is the Vice President of Culinary for Atria Senior Living, Inc. In this role, he leads the company’s culinary strategy, supporting communities in delivering elevated dining experiences that balance creativity, nutrition and operational consistency across the portfolio.

Mr. Hetzel joined Atria in 2021 and brings more than 30 years of leadership experience in hospitality and food service. Prior to joining Atria, he held senior leadership roles with 121 Inflight Catering and dnata US, where he served as Vice President of Commercial, Commercial Director and Vice President of Operations.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Hetzel served as a General Manager for Sodexo Corporate Services, where he oversaw multi-unit dining operations for a Fortune 100 corporate headquarters. He began his culinary career working in luxury hospitality, including serving as Sous Chef at the Mayflower Inn and Spa.

Mr. Hetzel holds an Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from the New England Culinary Institute and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Roanoke College.
