Joe has been an investment banker for 35 years and has raised more than $3.5 billion of debt and equity capital for providers in the senior living, behavioral health, acute care and human service sectors across 32 different states. He joined Cain Brothers in 2008 after having established and led the senior living practice nationally for A.G. Edwards for more than a decade. A core professional skillset is his ability to execute complex transformational transactions, which have included mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, start-ups, strategic and operational turnarounds, restructurings, repositionings and recapitalizations. Joe has served on the boards of many senior living organizations and industry trade associations and has a deep understanding of  policy, strategy, finance and development. He is passionate about identifying new care delivery and payment models for serving moderate income seniors and has successfully financed several assisted living Medicaid waiver facilities in Indiana and Illinois with various forms of debt, tax credit equity, grants and social impact funding.
