MODIFICATION
The National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care (NIC) reserves the right to modify or update any part of these Registration Terms and Conditions at any time, without prior notice. In the event that any changes significantly impact the privacy of individuals, NIC will comply with all relevant privacy regulations. Updated Registration Terms and Conditions will be posted on the Conference website. By registering for the NIC Conference, you acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions and accept to be bound by them.
PRIVACY
NIC is requesting your personal information to be able to communicate with you meaningfully in response to your registration for this NIC Conference. We will use this information for logistical, registration, communication, and information needs related to this NIC Conference. You may always rescind or amend your consent, per the NIC Privacy Policy.
ELIGIBILITY TO ATTEND
All attendees, partners, sponsors, speakers, and guests must be at least 18 years of age to attend the NIC Conference and all related NIC Conference events, including evening events.
The NIC Conference is open only to individuals involved with the seniors housing and care industry. The NIC Conference is not open to the public.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY
By registering for the NIC Conference, you confirm that you are aware that NIC does not currently require proof of vaccination, or a negative COVID-19 test, as a condition to attend. You knowingly and voluntarily accept all risk of infection and illness from contracting a communicable disease, including COVID-19, in connection with attending the NIC Conference. By registering for the Conference, you agree that you are solely responsible for any injury, illness, disability, or death that you incur, or that others incur, to the extent arising out of your contracting a communicable disease, including COVID-19. You agree that you will not hold NIC or any of its employees, agents, representatives, or volunteers responsible for any injury, loss, damage, claim, cost, liability, or expense of any kind. You also acknowledge and agree that NIC reserves the right to change the Conference health and safety policies and requirement at any time, and, by registering, agree that your satisfaction of any updated requirements (including, without limitation, proof of vaccination and/or a negative test) shall be a condition of your attendance.
BADGES
A government issued photo ID is required to pick up NIC Conference badges. Photocopies and electronic copies are not considered an acceptable form of ID. NIC Conference-issued credentials are the sole property of NIC and must be surrendered upon demand to NIC and/or its representatives or agents.
While onsite at the 2025 NIC Fall Conference or designated off-site activities, 2025 NIC Fall Conference-issued credentials must be prominently displayed. Badge swapping and/or sharing is strictly prohibited. Any attendee, partner, sponsor, or speaker found using another individual’s badge or loaning out their badge to another individual will have the badge confiscated and will be removed from the premises, with the other individual. If such action is necessary, there will be no refund of fees paid to attendee, nor will NIC be liable for any damages including but not limited to any direct, incidental or consequential damages arising from or related to the attendee’s action or removal from the 2025 NIC Fall Conference.
PHOTOGRAPHY, AUDIO, AND VIDEO RECORDING
NIC will take photographs, video, and audio recordings of this event for use in print and digital media (including, but not limited to, advertisements, emails, social media, website) to promote NIC. By participating in the event, you grant NIC the right to use any image, photograph, voice, or likeness, without limitation, in its promotional materials and publicity efforts without compensation. All media becomes the property of NIC. Media may be displayed, distributed, or used by NIC for any purpose.
FORCE MAJEURE
NIC shall not be held responsible for any delay or failure in performance of its obligations hereunder to the extent such delay or failure is caused by fire, flood, strike, civil, governmental, or military authority, acts of God, acts of terrorism, acts of war, pandemic, contagions, health crises, travel restrictions, epidemics, the availability of the Venue (if applicable), or other similar causes beyond its reasonable control and without the fault or negligence of NIC or its subcontractors such as power grid failures, internet outages, cyber warfare, cyber-attacks, ransomware attacks, cyber sabotage, civil war, sabotage or piracy. NIC does not accept any liability on account of unavailability, interruptions, errors, viruses, or harmful components. For one or more of such reasons, NIC may postpone, reschedule, or cancel the NIC Conference without liability on the part of NIC. In the event that the NIC Conference cannot be held or is postponed pursuant to this section, NIC shall not be liable to attendee for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodations costs, or financial losses. NIC will review refund and/or fee transfer requests, submitted in writing, for approval on a situational basis.
WEAPONS
For the safety and security of all attendees, staff, and participants, the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing and Care (NIC) enforces a strict no weapons policy at the NIC Conference. This includes, but is not limited to, firearms, knives, explosives, or any other objects that could be used as weapons.
Anyone found in violation of this policy will be asked to leave the event immediately, and local law enforcement may be notified. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all conference participants.
