Residents and their families increasingly expect senior housing and care providers to address the residents’ physical health needs where they live. In addition, an increasing number of residents have mental and behavioral health needs that present challenges for the senior housing operator. There are an increasing number of physician groups and mental health specialists bringing forth the expertise to provide services in the senior housing setting and to offer training and programmatic guidance on meeting these evolving resident needs.
